What is FitYoga
FitYoga is a Dynamic Power Vinyasa Flow sequence that fuses creative flows, powerful holds, and Pilates-inspired core exercises into a unique sequence. FitYoga was developed in 2010 by Balazs Heller, former gymnastics & European Yoga Asana Champion, with the aim to create an integrative dynamic sequence that would welcome a wide audience of western yoga practitioners.
FitYoga is designed for people who want the relaxing, releasing and rejuvenating effect of yoga while having a physically demanding core work-out using Pilates and Fitness Elements (Muscular strengthening / Flexibility / Cardiovascular Fitness). FitYoga provides a spiritual transformation to connect with your higher self and fulfill your mission in life. It integrates traditional with modern, scientific with spiritual, practical with theoretical.
FitYoga will help you to empower yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually and to bring a high level of faith, trust, truthfulness, transparent communication, patience, humility, respect and compassion into your private and professional life.
The main philosophy of yoga is simple: mind, body and spirit are all one and cannot be clearly separated.
“Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one’s being, from bodily health to self-realization. Yoga means union — the union of body with consciousness and consciousness with the soul. Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions.” -B.K.S. Iyengar
Sarah Dunham is the Canadian Ambassador for FitYoga, and owner of FitYoga Windsor. She recently completed her 200 hours with FitYoga founder Balazs Heller in the fall of 2017, in the beautiful country of Malta.
As soon as Sarah returned to Nova Scotia, she opened FitYoga Windsor and began sharing her love of yoga with her community. Deciding where to open her studio was easy… Windsor is in a beautiful transitional state with many exciting holistic opportunities arising. Sarah’s family is actively involved with the Town of Windsor and this is exactly where she is meant to be.
Sarah began her journey into yoga 8 years ago. Her faith in yoga grew as she experienced firsthand the transformations that were happening in all aspects of her life – mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally. As a month of two young boys, Sarah knows that life can become quite hectic and it’s very easy to “lose” yourself. In finding yoga, she found herself again ; you need to fill yourself up – you can’t give from an empty well.
Sarah is a very active person who loves mud runs, obstacle course racing, marathons, boot camps, basically movement of any kind. This was one of the main reasons she wanted to complete her 200-hour teacher training with FitYoga – movement in the body, keeping the body strong and healthy so you can turn inward and deepen your connection with your true athletic self.
Sarah will guide individuals towards a deeper sense of strength, balance, and personal power through yoga and movement. Her classes are fun, challenging and open to all experience levels.
Sarah knows that once you try a FitYoga class you will be hooked. The challenge awaits you!
